Why You Should Be Doing This Exercise

Start
Choose a leg to start with, step onto the box, and stand on it (the box, and the leg you've chosen). If you're going dumbbell action upfront, then hold them by your sides. Shall we step in the name of love?
Middle
All we're looking for here is to touch the ground with the leg you're lowering. To lower it, you'll be squatting in a controlled manner. Keep your head and chest facing up throughout, okay? This will require patience and balance, so prepare mentally for a learning curve.
Finish
Having touched the ground with your heel, you want to explode back upwards to straighten the squatting leg back out. This won't be easy, we know. But this is the deal. Once you've completed a set on one side, you know the drill. Switch sides.
Key Don'ts
Balance and control, coupled with explosion on the way back up. We're asking for all three of these from you. Don't give us two of the three. Don't deliver just one of them.
